Wow!

It took me a while to navigate through this site to figure out how the hell I could begin to create a blog. I am now here. *Wipes forehead* That was quite a work out ;)

I guess I feel like I grow stupider everyday that I study for I need to expunge pleasurable things like creating entries online to make room for information on the inter-dependent relationships of language, culture, and education.

Speaking of which, I read this article writen by Kozol, explaining how screwed up the education system is. Its all based on a political agenda, we are taught to learn specific things, and behave in certian ways. Screw asking questions! I felt very discouraged but I can remind myself (this is what we call a strand of hope) that education is slowly changing.

I refuse to become cynical. I just have to remind myself what Zak (from Rage Against the Machine) said in the song “Killing in the Name.” Fuck you, I wont do what you tell me. Over and over again (to those with a political propaganda to organize commonities among mankind for the purpose to serve themselves, in other terms $$$) That really gets me. Everyone eventually dies. Why are people so set on money? I mean what is up with that? Some people spend their lives saving thousands of dollars only to leave behind a hefty bank account. What does it do for someone thats 6 feet under? A ghost cruise into the afterworld? Maybe the mythological figure, Hades, will go easier on you and let you pass on through.

Anyways, that was just a boring tibit of information to get the ball rolling here.

I know my friend Kate will be delighted that I have allowed myself to become cyberlized (as opposed to civalized) but I hope she knows that nothing exciting occurs while one is in graduate school! Never the less, Ill give this a shot. Toodles.
