Oh Oh~

i forgot to write about how Arthur Luhn strikes again upon another unknowing female. I was at the Metropolitan Musuem (MET) about three weeks ago to join an ASL tour by Guthrie, who I must add- is a FABULOUS presenter! Afterwards there was a reception and I talked to several people then one girl told me she almost moved to Boston. Somehow I had a funny feeling inside, nagging at me- so I said, oh if you ever run into Arthur stay away from him. She blushed and gave me a nervous smile. I said, oh, too late you already know huh? How did you know him? She said they had dated for a while and I was like, ooooh. Im sorry. Then she got around to revealing that he sort of forced her into agreeing to have sex and I was like thats rape. She was like no its not. I said it is if he refused to take no for an answer and ketp pushing until you gave in. She wont report on him, but she does try to inform others to be wary of him without explaining why. Of course those other girls want to know why, afterall females are naturally suspicious of everything, and want to investigage motives. Heh. Im frustrated with how much Damage Arthur inflicts upon signing members of the community! A friend of mine and I were asked to share our story to four other girls who are going into a project with Arthur, we managed to encourage two girls to drop the project while the other two remain confident that nothing will happen to them. Who can blame them, they want to be on the “big screen.” Today I took my final NY state exam. If I passed it- ill be a NY state certified teacher. The test was long and windy- My eyes glazed over all the questions. The flourescent industrial lights were really bad. The test was done in a huge convention center that looked like a warehouse. Guess its a good scheme of making more students fail to reap in more profits on their retakes? Bah! ;)

Interesting blog

http://www.deaflawblog.com/ A lot of political rantings where Deaf people are directly or indirectly involved. http://www.ad-awards.com/inc/video.swf?id=104 This is a link to a French Advertisement for a French Electric Company (EDC) There is a saying in French at the end and my interpreter coordinator for Teacher’s College got the English translation from his french fluent speaking Ex. Le monde est plus dur quand il n’est pas concu pour vous. Desormais, les espaces EDF sont accessibles a tous. The world is harder when it’s not made with you in mind. From now on, EDF is accessible for everyone. (EDF is a French electricity company)

Mainer’s Visit in the Big A

The gang arrived late Friday night, but not late enough to skip out on meeting the NYCers at Ryans Bar for DPHH! We hurried through the unloading and subway hopping to arrive at 12:30am and we stayed until 2:30. I got to meet up with Tyrone from “All About Love” and agreed that we had met before but just couldnt put a finger on where when and how. Hes a pleasant fella ;)

I also saw Elise, a former counselor of mine from CCC in Maine, for the first time since BEFORE I broke up with Mario. She tried to help my through the situation then but was not making any progress. Of course I had a lot to catch her up on regarding that…and introduced her to my non-abusive love, Jami ;) Its a small world because she actually works in the elementary dept. at the same school that I work at now.

Saturday we all went to eat brunch and went back to the apt to veg out until it was time to go paint the town red. the only thing that went wrong that night was poor Con-man got really sick and had to skip the nightclub grove with us. The nightclub, Temple, was really nice- very WHITE dominant on the main floor. Perhaps on the Reggaton floor were more ethic dancers, who knows, I never went up to see the third floor. Smile.

Sunday we headed out to the MET to see the Photography of the panoramic exhibit. It was so FAKE! I couldnt enjoy it. Especially the excoplasma part- it was just too gross to see people stuffing their noses with lamb intestines or putting raw meat on a mans gentials to look like it was a monsterous hand fondling him! ICK! But we got to split up and enjoy other parts of the musuem’s exhibits. I really enjoyed this part with Jami, it was very relaxing- could put me to sleep if it werent for the occasional delights catching my eye ;) (Which was usually something of a dirty nature ;) JK.

Monday, the gang left around 330 (three and half hours later than planned due to Conman and Katlicious desire to journey to the “end of the world-manhattan” prior to depature and not to mention kate getting lost on the way back to my apt, heehee. I didnt finish my homework for Monday night’s class so instead of taking a nap to catch up I had to quickly read through 3 articles and write a reflective journal within an hour’s time. I was only 12 minutes late to class! ;) In my opinion I wasnt late enough- I barely could keep a focus on the lecture.

Right now, I dont have any pictures from the weekend to show. If I get any from the gang, Ill be sure to post them. I dont want to be at work at all today. My bed beckons me, a mantra I cannot rid myself of.

Passengers!

Before I get started, I want to tell Christine Taylor that I hope she had a great time at the Michigan Pageant and hoped she felt she did her best! Smile. My thoughts (and Keris) were there for you all weekend long. I hope to hear from you soon.

Yesterday, I headed out to Fort Tryon Park to enjoy the Rennisance Faire and found myself feeling crabby once I arrived. In NYC the subways are underground as you all know but some of them have elevators instead of stairs for the elevated areas (because the stop happens to be near a cliff) as such as it was the case at Fort Tryon.I boarded onto the elevator which is about the size of a stadard NYC bedroom or a standard Maine office and waited for it to fill. One woman came in and jabbed at me to push me over. I was like hey, look it- dont you push me! See lady, as I pointed behind me, there is a table here so I cannot move as I would like to. The lady was like.. Im sorry and moved away and off of me. I said, No you arent thinking to myself “You push as if you are in kindergarden and you arent.” Sheesh. Smile.

This was the second time I experienced this. Last week a man on the bus tried to push me into the overcrowded bus so he could get inside of the “white line” where all passengers must stand behind and I was like- excuse me sir can you see all the sardines behind me? If they cannot move, I obviously cannot move any further and he was still trying to drill his way in, STOP PUSHING ME. Im like, stop it and dont touch me lously enough for the bus driver and nearby passengers to look over. I can only imagine their interpretation of the situation a white girl telling a black man not to touch her, Ugh. The man finally backed off. I was like, geez- the nerve of these people. You know? They feel like they can just push their way around. No sense of courtesy! Smile.

Jada at 7 mos

I just realized that the last picture of Jada posted here was from when she was around 5 weeks old. Here is an updated pix of her at 7 mos. She is considerably darker than when we first got her. Her calico and tiger genes emerged.
